OUTINGS & EVENTS

Saturday October 3rd, 2026

 Brian got approval to take our group on a field trip to “Pats Gulch” sometimes called Snowshoe Creek. Date is Oct 03. We will meet at Barnes & Noble parking area and leave at 9 am. A 2 hr drive to Avon, west of Helena on Rt 12. The product is mainly tailings from 3 open pit mines. The minerals are grossular garnet, epidote, quartz, malachite, hematite, and sheelite. Tools — rock hammer, small hand rake or small pick and a bucket. Good shoes or hiking boot a must, it is hard uneven ground. Brian will not be at the meeting of Oct 1st but will have someone bring samples.
