  Gem prospecting is the search for precious gemstones around Montana. State land is an option to pursue for those interested in gems such as sapphires, garnets and rubies. Our group has outings for those interested in gem collection and discovery.   

  Panning for gold in the mountains and streams of Montana, especially those around central Montana, is what we do. We will teach you how to do this and give real life examples for you to follow.   

  Our group has yearly opportunities to try your hand at detecting metal objects of all kinds. We teach you how to utilize metal detectors and strategies to apply when seeking this adventure in the wild.  

  For those that would like to find treasures of the distant, fossil  hunting is for you. Our group will share their knowledge in finding  prehistoric fossilized bone, stone and other fragments.   

Joining us on your search for precious metals, minerals, and gems along with fossils and petrified wood that is abundant in our beautiful state of Montana will turn you into a true Rock Hound.
